Job Description
Scope of Work
- Support product and commercial teams in their business needs, with a strong focus on driving research, development, and enhancement of internal products—especially the Retail Compass solution.
- To perform the development of advanced analytics and statistical models to support functional and industry applications
- Analyze large-scale datasets collected by NIQ A&A teams to discover trends, insights, and deeper opportunities for further research.
- Help product and commercial teams understand data products and the methodologies behind them.
- Collaborate with clients to explain ongoing research and help them understand NIQ data clearly.
- Build clear insights through data visualization or statistical analysis.
- Continuously test new algorithms and workflows to evaluate accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research activities to support updating, improving, and developing new algorithms, especially for the Retail Compass product.
- Independently design and build analytical models. Write scripts for data processing, cleaning, analysis, and modeling. Produce statistical and visualization outputs.
- Manage projects independently, including project design, execution, and modeling work delivery; supervise the work quality of junior analysts.
- Support commercial team to translate model results into clear commercial insights to meet clients’ needs.
- Collaborate with product and commercial teams to ensure alignment with retail analytics methodology.
- Partner with teams to enhance data products.
Qualifications
E = Essential, P = Preferred
- E – Bachelor’s degree or above in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytical Marketing, or related fields and at least 5 years statistic modeling working experiences
- E – Experience with machine learning or data mining; familiarity with algorithms like decision trees, random forests, and logistic regression.
- E – Proficient in Python, SQL and common database operations.
- E – Understanding data processing and analytical methods.
- E – Experience with LLM-related projects and applications.
- P – Experience with large datasets and distributed computing tools (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive); Spark/PySpark experience preferred.
- P – Internet product development, e-commerce data, or geolocation data experience.
- P – Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and solve issues.
- P – Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to work under pressure.
- P – Experience using Arcgis or QGIS is preferred.
- P – Experience using VBA, Visualization tool (e.g. Power BI) would be a plus.
