Job Description
The FinOps Intermediate Analyst participates in the end-to-end lifecycle for cloud financial management across NIQ including spend, forecasting, and optimization. NIQ is looking for a driven individual with demonstrated experience in maturing Cloud FinOps capabilities. This person will be responsible for working with a range of internal stakeholders to design, develop and manage reports and dashboards. You will help ensure the operational success of the NIQs cloud expansion strategy. The ideal candidate will need strong analytical, cross-team collaboration, and multi-tasking skills that can execute and deliver quickly.
Qualifications
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:
- Maintain and improve real-time cloud cost and consumption dashboards and forecasts for executive committee briefings, corporate finance workflows and engineering transparency
- Drive cost optimization efforts by analysing patterns of usage and recommending reserved instances & savings plans across Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, and GCP
- Partner with our Cloud Governance Council to ensure appropriate tagging, consumption, and alert strategies are deployed and maintained at scale to manage costs
- Work with product teams to accurately cost out implementations
- Maintain KPIs, scorecards, and standard metrics
Experience Required:
- 3+ years experience with cost optimization
- Deep understanding of Azure's Cost Management & Billing, AWS' Cost and Usage Dashboard, and GCP's Billing Reports.
- Understands the FinOps subject area within a large enterprise
- Advanced cost management knowledge including but not limited to chargeback modeling, cost savings and avoidance tracking, optimization opportunities, and forecasting
- Practical knowledge of native cloud provider cost management capabilities and pricing models
- Solid experience with third-party cloud aggregator software with direct experience in rightsizing, tagging and storage lifecycle policies, and automation
- Analytical skills to collect, coordinate and present sophisticated data to a variety of audiences
- Experience in developing KPIs and scorecards based on internal and industry benchmarks
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
