Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented professional with a background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to lead spatial data governance for offline retail store data. You will serve as the quality gatekeeper of our store geospatial assets, responsible for cleansing, standardizing, spatializing, and auditing census data from stores across China. Your work will ensure data accuracy, consistency, and usability—forming a solid foundation for retail monitoring, client store network analysis, and location-based decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Store Data Cleansing & Processing

· Handle large-scale, multi-source offline store census data (e.g., Excel, CSV, form-based inputs), performing data cleansing tasks such as deduplication, error fixing, missing value imputation, and anomaly handling.

· Standardize non-uniform store information (e.g., name, address, business type, operating status), and develop and enforce unified data standards and protocols.

2. Geocoding & Spatialization

· Use AMap (Gaode) Web Service APIs, especially geocoding and reverse geocoding interfaces, to batch-convert textual address data into high-precision geographic coordinates.

· Resolve coordinate system discrepancies (e.g., WGS-84, GCJ-02, BD-09) to ensure all spatial data aligns under a consistent geospatial reference.

3. Spatial Data Management & Quality Assessment

· Apply advanced spatial data processing using GeoPandas, including Spatial Join operations to enrich store points with administrative boundaries, commercial zones, competitor locations, and other layers.

· Establish automated data quality rules and validation workflows using spatial and attribute analysis to ensure accuracy, completeness, and logical positioning of store data.

· Maintain and manage databases to ensure traceability and integrity of store information.

4. Process Optimization & Cross-Team Collaboration

· Design and optimize automated pipelines for store data processing to improve output efficiency.

· Collaborate closely with business teams and data collection units to identify and resolve data quality issues, and drive upstream improvements.

5. Supports o2o product coding

This includes enhancing the weighting of words which’s used in original product descriptions, with the goal of improving the match accuracy between raw product and NIQ standardized product description.

Qualifications

1. Education & Background

· Bachelor’s degree or above in GIS, Computer Science, Data Science, or related disciplines.

2. Core Technical Skills

· Proficient in Python data processing: strong command of Pandas, NumPy, Re, and other libraries for large-scale structured data manipulation.

· Skilled in spatial data handling: hands-on experience with GeoPandas and Shapely, including solving real-world problems using Spatial Join and other spatial operations.

· Experience with map APIs: practical experience using AMap, Baidu Maps, or similar services for batch geocoding/reverse geocoding via API.

· Domain expertise:

o Deep understanding of address models and Chinese address parsing/standardization.

o Familiarity with common spatial reference systems and coordinate transformations.

o High sensitivity to data quality, with a rigorous and responsible work ethic.

o Proficient in database tools (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) for data inspection and basic operations.

o Background in offline retail or O2O industries, with understanding of store-related business concepts (e.g., shoptype, banner, brand).
