Product Leadership Analyst

Job Description
Reporting to the Cluster CariCam PL Leader, the PL Analyst is responsible for building and overseeing the overall product strategy and ensuring the success of the product with our clients and against our competitors.
Works with senior executives and the leadership teams in the Cluster / Country to identify and define product strategies and initiatives priorities for the business. Needs to be prepared to lobby for funding in the region.
The Product Leadership Analyst interacts with both commercial leaders and operations leaders to put in place a multiyear roadmap of product developments. Work with clients and commercial partners to discover and assess product opportunities, which carry out the strategy of the company.
What you’ll do
- Ownership of the product; responsible for “right product at the right time”; define the “what and why”; help the business hit its targets (revenue, cost, operational); manage and resolve issues and crises effective; define your job and your success – not always asking what to do. Be aware of all major cost drivers of product and what actions and product use cases impact those drivers; Provides insight and intuition into cost implication of product decisions and new features
- Organizational management; working through the tollgate gauntlet; managing time effectively; managing the Operations Team effectively to build the “what” with the right “how” and within reasonable “when”; building a rapport and relationship with the Operations Team
- Sales and marketing support; collaborating with product marketing / marketing & comms to divide and conquer; creating collateral, FAQs, presentations, documentation, training, and white papers when necessary; build solutions to product flaws and limitations; communicating the story we want written by the press; effectively communicating our product positioning vs. competitors
- Business acumen & entrepreneurialism; understand the revenue and client impact of new features; understanding why a feature is needed and the use cases; understand the cost drivers and cost impact of new features; maintain competitive intelligence; identifies opportunities to grow and improve product with 3rd parties and other Nielsen business units.
Qualifications
- Minimum B.S. degree in Actuarial science, Economics-Administrative of related field
- Communication skills; clearly and crisply defining the target and the vision; removing ambiguity and clarifying situations; the right use of formal and informal communication techniques
- Preferably from commercial or statistical areas
- Manages work to achieve goals and objectives assigned by manager; Identifies tasks and responsibilities to best meet those goals
- Manages expectations with client service based on project oversight and requirements validation by product management, ships products correctly and on time
- Effectively manages time for immediate product responsibilities; Judiciously delegates or defers requests to different teams
- Clearly, simply, and accurately describes new requirements and features; Communicates relevant context of market, strategy, and business conditions to support position
- Understands product questions and root cause of confusion or misunderstanding (e.g., terminology, misrepresentation, factual error); Resolve questions and root cause of confusion
- Effectively prepares presentations and documentation with little or no direction; Effectively responds to inquiries through informal channels
- Independently creates collateral, FAQs, external presentations, documentation, training, or white papers in response to client questions, product launch, or request from manager
- Accurately describes and represents product flaws or limitations, and provides meaningful workarounds to clients and product marketing
- Create a clear revenue case for a product feature with little to no guidance from manager; Properly identifies and delineates revenue derived from true incremental sales, revenue protection, and sales synergy / bundling with other products
- Good English communication skills
