Job Description
As a Product Manager, you’ll be at the heart of strategic goal setting, while determining where to invest and who to partner with to continue to win in a competitive marketplace. You’ll collaborate with a team of product, data science, operations, and commercial leaders to develop new products and enhance existing products, ensuring your product meets evolving client and industry needs.
The successful candidate will have a track record of identifying, capturing, and understanding customer needs and translating those needs into real-world solutions and impact. You will be equally confident engaging development teams around detailed product options vs. interviewing clients to understand their use cases and pain points. You will excel at earning the trust of our most senior leaders, communicating multi-faceted findings clearly, and using data and sound business judgment to drive and influence strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
- Own the roadmap, strategy, and long-term vision for your product, using the ‘voice of the client’ and data-driven insights to guide decision-making. Iterate and adjust based on new information and stakeholder feedback.
- Partner with a cross-functional team spanning Operations, Data Science, Communications, Product Marketing, Customer Success, and more to plan, build, and deploy product enhancements.
- Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous problems by identifying client needs and working backward to create direction and define milestones for the team to deliver market-leading solutions.
- Provide domain expertise on the product and articulate the strategy with internal stakeholders and clients, as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on the product.
- Partner with program management teams to manage the product backlog, prioritization of enhancements, value vs. complexity tradeoffs, and cross-functional dependencies/risks.
- Perform industry research, and competitive analysis, and consider the overall NielsenIQ company strategy when making product decisions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development, data science, or technology experience.
- Experience in B2B product management for highly data-driven products.
- Strong background with end-to-end product delivery.
- Experience in go-to-market strategies and change management.
- Understanding of feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product.
- Demonstrated experience owning and driving roadmap strategy and definition.
- Demonstrated involvement in taking ownership of technology-driven products
- Strong presentation abilities and the capacity to address diverse audiences in client interactions and engagement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and outstanding attention to detail.
- Low ego, collaborative approach.
- Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university.
- Prior experience working for a market intelligence company is a plus.
