New England Donor Services (NEDS) coordinates organ and tissue donation in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, the eastern counties of Vermont and Bermuda. Responsible for one of the largest of the 56 Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) that make up the nation’s donation system, NEDS works with over 200 hospitals and serves 14 million people in our region, screening nearly 55,000 potential donor referrals annually. With approximately $110M in operating revenues, NEDS employs 300 clinical and non-clinical staff members throughout New England and across the country.

Job Description

As a member of the Education and Development Team, the Education and Development Administrative Coordinator (EDC) assumes responsibility for the coordination of the onboarding process for ODS new hires, annual and on-going training for all ODS staff, professional development, and other educational programs as needed.  The EDC assists with the administration of the Learning Management System (LMS) and ensures the curricula are implemented as designed.

FOCUS AREAS/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Training:

  • Oversees onboarding process of new hires, including scheduling of classes and ensuring curriculum requirements are met.
  • Is responsible for the coordination and documentation of all ongoing, annual, and professional development education and training.
  • Works with Administrative Manager, Education & Development to support training initiatives and special projects.
  • Assesses needs for additional resources and creates and implements related tools and processes to meet those needs.
  • Assumes responsibility for creating orientee on-call schedule to maximize learning opportunities.
  • Performs administrative tasks for the LMS, developing and revising training plans, creating classes, and marking completion to ensure accurate and complete training files.
  • Uploads certificates and other documents to individual training files.
  • Serves as an ODS contact for LMS support.

Administrative:

  • Partners with Manager, Education and Development to maintain internal websites and pages hosted on SharePoint.
  • Coordinates in-person, remote and external training sessions.
  • Supports quality initiatives and internal/external audits by generating reports, organizing data, and assisting to complete identified tasks.
  • Develops and maintains relevant data bases, records, and reports as requested.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure training needs are met.
  • Occasionally supports administrative functions for NEDS as needed.
  • Performs above duties and other duties assigned by Administrative Manager, Education & Development and/or Sr. Director, Education and Development.

Qualifications

  • Computer & Application Literacy: proficiency Microsoft Office suite, Learning Management Systems, and instructional technologies including Zoom, Databases, or other tools to facilitate interactive learning, e-learning, and webinars.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with SharePoint functionality preferred.
  • Experience in medical environment preferred.

This is a hybrid position and will require travel to the Waltham, MA office.
