Job Description

So, what are the main responsibilities of an Operations & Application Support Engineer in Netcompany?

As an Operations & Application Support Engineer, you will:

  • Ensure the operational stability, availability, performance, and security of production systems across all environments.
  • Provide second-level (L2) support by investigating and resolving incidents, service requests, and technical problems within agreed service levels.
  • Monitor application and infrastructure health using observability and monitoring tools, proactively responding to alerts and events.
  • Execute corrective, preventive, adaptive, and maintenance activities to ensure service continuity and compliance with operational standards.
  • Support change, release, and deployment activities, including deployment validation, rollback planning, and testing.
  • Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, knowledge articles, and incident records.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevSecOps, Database Administrators, Architects, and operational stakeholders.
  • Support middleware and integration platforms, including APIs, messaging systems, identity management solutions, web infrastructure, and content management platforms.

Qualifications

What would make you a fit for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in IT operations, application support, or systems support, including at least 2 years in an L2 support role.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL service management processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Knowledge Management.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix environments, container platforms, and monitoring/observability tools.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and automation practices.
  • Experience supporting APIs, middleware, integration platforms, identity and access management solutions, or web technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, French is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Linux Administration, Kubernetes, or equivalent are advantageous.
