Graduate School of Public Policy Profile

NU’s Graduate School of Public Policy (GSPP) enrolled its first students in 2013 and offers degree programs in Master in Public Policy, Master in Public Administration and PhD in Public Policy. The School’s strategic partner is the National University of Singapore’s Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.  Our Master programs have achieved full accreditation from the European Association for Public Administration Accreditation (EAPAA) since 2019 and the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration (NASPAA) from 2023.

Job Description

The Manager is assigned the following functions:

  1. organization of planning and coordination of the curriculum and educational process PhD programs;
  2. support for students during registration, obtaining a schedule, transferring credits, choosing a module / course, reinstatement in the PhD program;
  3. participation in the development, coordination and monitoring of academic policies and procedures in consultation with the Dean and Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs of the School;
  4. control of students’ academic progress;
  5. implementation of the student engagement policy (including analysis of student assessments of the module/course (feedback from students) at the end of each semester);
  6. maintaining contact with the School’s partners, as well as other structural units of the University regarding the development of the academic calendar and module schedule (including classroom reservations);
  7. organization and promotion of educational and student events related to the PhD program, such as: orientation program; foreign component; student trips; graduation ceremony.
  8. monitoring the preparation and readiness of educational tools / IT equipment for PhD classes;
  9. taking part in the formation of the School’s budget for the corresponding financial year in accordance with the University budget items administered by the School;
  10. support for students in organizing internships and employment;
  11. administration of surveys upon graduation of students;
  12. organization and support of student trips of the School;
  13. participation in the development and implementation of the strategic objectives of the University within the competence of the School;
  14. development, monitoring and execution of contracts, the initiator of which is the School, and the responsible executor is the Manager;
  15. participation in the processes of identification, assessment, management, monitoring of risks within the supervised area;

Qualifications

Education: Higher professional, preferably in higher educational institutions with teaching in English.

Master's degree preferred.

Work experience: The required work experience is determined in accordance with the standard qualification requirements for administrative positions in the autonomous educational organization “Nazarbayev University”.
