An Instructor is a junior member of the GSB faculty responsible for carrying out the mission of education and training. The responsibilities of the instructor include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Provide high quality academic instruction to students
2. Practice excellence in teaching and instruction
3. Develop and implement new methods of teaching
4. Design, prepare, and develop new teaching materials
5. Assess student coursework
6. Generate and grade examinations
7. Advise students
Faculty workload:
Faculty workload and duties are assigned in joint consultation with the Dean of the school. Faculty workloads among instructors will be predominantly teaching but will be adjusted, as needed, for additional administrative duties, special assignments, the fractional distribution of the faculty effort varies as indicated below.
Teaching duties 75-100% and Service duties 0-25%
Teaching Responsibilities
Teaching will primarily be at the undergraduate level, which will include, as part of a team of instructors, teaching Business 101, an introductory course which is part of the CORE curriculum. Other teaching assignments in the area of business & management may also be considered.
Service Responsibilities
People management and team building
· To promote and market the work of the department in the subject.
· To promote a collegial approach and support interdisciplinary team work.
· To deal with referred issues for students within the academic programs.
· To act as referral source, giving first line support.
· To provide first line support for colleagues, referring them to sources of further help if required.
Resource Management
To contribute to School-wide planning and strategic development and departmental-level strategic planning.
To contribute to the management of quality, audit, and other external assessments as needed.
Working environment
· To balance the competing pressures of teaching, scholarship, knowledge transfer, administrative demands, and deadlines.
· To take overall responsibility for health and safety in own areas of responsibility.
· To ensure that appropriate risk management processes are operational.
· To understand and apply the principles of equality of opportunity in an academic context.
· To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected.

Qualifications
We seek a broadly trained individual who is student-centered and committed to quality teaching. Duties include teaching a course in business/management, with special focus on management and entrepreneurship. Applicant should hold a master degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in business/management. Special consideration will be given to candidates who also hold a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the areas of organizational behavior, organizational processes/theory, strategic management and entrepreneurship, economics, or areas closely related to these fields. Excellent communication skills and English fluency are required.

Compensation: Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business offers a competitive salary and an attractive benefits package including health care coverage. The contract will be for a fixed term, with a possibility of renewal.
