Job Description

The School of Engineering and Digital Sciences of Nazarbayev University invites applications from outstanding candidates at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. The position will commence in August 2025.

Candidates must possess an earned PhD degree in mechanical engineering from a reputable university. Candidates must, during their prior career, have demonstrated excellence in research, learning and teaching and external engagement. A sustained and successful track record of attaining research and/or commercial funding and publication in internationally recognised quality journals associated with high Scopus h-index are essential. An ideal candidate will demonstrate a willingness to collaborate within a team to deliver teaching and research related to broad areas of mechanical engineering including computational fluid dynamics (CFD), fluid mechanics and thermos-fluids. The candidate research interests should complement and augment the department's existing strengths in mechanical engineering. Excellent communication skills and English fluency are required.

PhD degree in mechanical engineering from a reputable university with a proven research track record and teaching experience commensurate with appointment rank.
