Overview and Objectives of the Position – What You’ll Do:
- Create fun, engaging, student focused content for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn & more
- Write sharp copy for socials, newsletters and collateral, web pages, and digital campaigns
- Capture stories on campus (events, students, vibes, wins)
- Make graphics, shoot short videos, edit content
- Build and grow our online community
- Spot trends early and bring fresh ideas
- Track what’s working and share insights
- Drafting, editing and proofreading content
- Plan, promote, deliver and evaluate promotional events and activities on campus for prospective and current students, university colleagues, alumni, and industry
Key Result Areas – What You’ll Deliver:
- High-quality content, social media posts, newsletters, infographics, blog posts, and articles ensuring a consistent brand across all platforms
- Growing the campus social media presence, creating and scheduling posts, engaging with followers, and analysing performance
- Impactful content consistent with La Trobe University tone and brand guidelines relating to the Sydney value proposition
- Visually compelling and on-brand content including video, photography, and graphic assets
- Collaboration with internal teams to capture stories, updates, and campaign moments, and support digital marketing efforts including Google Ads, Meta Ads, email campaigns
- Website content maintenance and updates, ensuring relevance, compliance, and optimisation for SEM, GEO, AEO
- Content and campaign performance analysis, reporting and insights
- Currency with content and social media trends, tools, and emerging platforms
- Appealing, exciting, well-organised and well-executed events and activities on campus

Qualifications
Essential:
- Education: Undergraduate qualification in marketing or related discipline
- Social Media Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in managing and creating content for various social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok) in a professional or business context.
- Content Creation: A strong portfolio or examples of work showcasing skills in creating engaging digital content, including written copy, images, and short-form video.
- Digital Tools: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of online graphic design tools (e.g., Canva or Adobe Creative Suite), as well as experience with social media scheduling and analytics platforms.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to adapt tone of voice for different audiences and platforms.
- Teamwork and Autonomy: The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated and capable of managing priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Administrative Skills: Strong organisational skills and experience with general administrative tasks related to marketing projects and campaigns.
Desirable Criteria:
- Relevant Experience: Previous experience in a similar marketing or communications support role, ideally within the education sector.
- Understanding of Analytics: A basic understanding of social media metrics and web analytics to assist in reporting on campaign performance.
- Creative Thinking: A creative and innovative mindset, with a passion for emerging social media trends and technologies.
- Event Management: Experience planning, promoting, and delivering physical events and brand activations, including budgeting, content capture, and post-event evaluation that drives continuous improvements
