Job Description

The Marketing Officer is responsible for the coordination and delivery of marketing initiatives for Charles Sturt University Sydney & Melbourne. This role plays a critical part in enhancing the institution’s online presence, increasing audience engagement, and supporting student recruitment targets through the delivery of on-brand content, compelling digital and campus experiences, and effective campaign execution.

This is an ongoing part-time role at 4 days per week

Working closely with the Director of Marketing and broader team, the Marketing Officer will lead the delivery of marketing projects and campaigns across multiple channels, with a strong focus on contributing to lead generation, nurturing prospective students, and supporting conversion outcomes across both domestic and international audiences.

The role ensures all marketing outputs align with Charles Sturt University brand guidelines, policies, and procedures, while proactively identifying opportunities to improve marketing effectiveness, campaign performance, and resource utilisation.

Key deliverables of the role include:

  • Leading the delivery of end-to-end marketing campaigns and projects that contribute to lead generation and enrolment targets
  • Developing and executing content and communications that support audience engagement and conversion across the student journey
  • Acting as a key guardian of the Charles Sturt Sydney & Melbourne brand across all marketing outputs
  • Managing stakeholder relationships and coordinating internal and external partners to deliver high-quality marketing outcomes
  • Supporting continuous improvement of marketing activity through performance insights and optimisation

About You

  • Proven experience in marketing, campaign delivery, or marketing coordination roles, ideally within education or a service-based environment
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident developing and executing content across digital channels, with an understanding of how content supports engagement, lead generation, and conversion
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Resilient and solutions-focused, with a proactive mindset and a strong ability to navigate challenges and find practical ways forward
  • Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to build effective relationships across internal teams and external partners
  • Commercially aware, with an interest in understanding campaign performance and contributing to improved marketing outcomes
  • Culturally aware with an interest in education and engaging diverse audiences, including international students and agents

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • 3–5 years’ experience in marketing, campaign delivery, or content development roles (education sector desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience delivering integrated marketing campaigns across digital channels
  • Strong copywriting and content development skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences
  • Experience working with CRM, and/or marketing automation platforms
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and manage relationships across a matrix environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outputs
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ability to be proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused in a fast-paced environment
