We're looking for a full-time Academic and Professional Skills Adviser (1.0FTE) to join our national team of student-centred superstars!

The Academic and Professional Skills Adviser supports student success by developing core academic and professional skills that enable effective learning, progression, and transition into professional contexts. The role delivers high‑quality learning and skills-development support through individual consultations, workshops, embedded curriculum activities, and digital resources, working in close partnership with faculty and student‑support teams. As part of a national learning services team, the Academic and Professional Skills Adviser contributes to improved student engagement, retention, and graduate capability outcomes through evidence‑informed, inclusive practice. 

The successful candidate will be:

  • A strong communicator who is able to build relationships with our wonderfully diverse students and staff

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g., learning support, education, psychology). 

  • Demonstrated experience providing academic and professional skills advising support in academic settings, including online delivery. 

  • Experience designing and facilitating workshops and creating learning resources for diverse cohorts. 

  • Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams. 

  • Strong digital literacy; familiarity with electronic resources, systems and tools used for teaching and learning. 

  • High‑level written and oral communication, including academic and professional writing and presentation skills.
