Job Description
ACAP is seeking several dedicated sessional Counselling Educators who are passionate about their field and excited to teach the next generation of professionals.
Opportunities are available at our Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne Campuses.
We are seeking experts in one or more of the following subject matters:
- Neuroscience Counselling and Psychotherapy
 - Grief therapy
 - Trauma Counselling
 - Group work
 - Counselling Children and Young People
 - Philosophies and Theories of Counselling
 - Cross Cultural Counselling
 - Ethical Decision Making in Counselling and Psychotherapy
 - Mental Health Counselling
 - Research and Contemporary Counselling Approaches
 - Creative Arts Counselling and Narrative Therapy
 - Contemporary Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
 
Sessional Tutoring involves:
- Teaching classes including tutorials, intensive workshops, and engaging with students through online forums.
 - Marking assignments and performing administrative tasks associated with the classes.
 - Teaching from the Sydney CBD or Melbourne CBD campus
 - Full time or part time for a specific period, with the opportunity in exceptional circumstances, to assume the role of Unit Coordinator.
 
Qualifications
The candidates we seek will ideally have:
- Experience working in a tertiary education institution
 - Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with all levels of the College
 - Excellent scholarly expertise and/or industry expertise
 - Breadth of Counselling industry expertise
 
Candidates must possess the following essential criteria:
- A Counselling qualification, at least Masters level
 - Minimum of 5 years experience practicing as a professional Counsellor
 - Membership or eligibility for membership of PACFA or ACA
