Job Description
Natixis is looking for a versatile professional who is comfortable both "talking to the business" and "getting their hands dirty in the data pipeline." You will be responsible for understanding business data structures, writing clear technical specifications for Data Engineers, designing reporting solutions in Power BI, and actively participating in the development of our ETL flows.
As a Data Analyst / Data Engineer in our team, you will bridge the gap between business needs, data analysis, and technical data engineering. If you have a strong analytical mindset, a love for data modeling, and hands-on experience with ETL tools, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Requirements & Specifications: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into clear data models and technical specifications for the Data Engineering team.
- Data Modeling & Architecture: Design, structure, and maintain robust data models (star schemas, snowflake schemas) optimized for analysis and reporting.
- Data Governance: Ensure data quality, consistency, and clear documentation of data definitions (data lineage and data dictionary).
- ETL Development: Design, build, test, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse.
- Tooling (Stambia + Others): Develop ETL processes primarily using Stambia (training/adaptation can be provided if you have strong experience in other market-standard ETL tools like Talend, Informatica, SSIS, dbt, etc.).
- Data Quality Automation: Implement automated checks to ensure the reliability and integrity of the loaded data.
Qualifications
Hard Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role (Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer) with a strong dual focus on analysis and ETL development.
- Advanced SQL skills are mandatory (complex queries, joins, optimizations, stored procedures).
- Strong understanding of relational databases and data warehouse concepts (Kimball methodology).
- Direct experience with Stambia is a major asset. Otherwise, solid experience with other ETL tools (Talend, Informatica, SSIS, Data Factory, dbt) and a strong willingness to adapt to Stambia.
- Prior experience working in the banking, finance, or insurance sector (understanding of financial instruments, regulatory compliance, risk management, or retail banking data) is highly appreciated.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performing, user-friendly Power BI dashboards and reports (including DAX formulas and Power Query/M).
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Knowledge of Python or Unix/Linux scripting.
- Fluency in French and English is essential.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between business users (non-technical) and pure developers (highly technical).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset.
- Ability to take ownership of projects from requirements gathering to final delivery.
We will only consider CVs in English.
