Job Description

We are looking for an IT Team Leader (local contract) to work within IT Corporate Risk teams.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Team Leader to join our IT Risk team in Porto, within the Credit Risk and Rating Engines department. This role is crucial for managing and optimizing our software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Reporting to the Team Manager of IT Risks in Portugal, you will lead a setup of 3 different software engineering teams responsible for developing, modernizing, and maintaining a set of applications used by the Risk Business of BPCE group. You will drive technical excellence, respond to various project requests (architecture, estimation, and software integration), and preserve excellent relationships with our stakeholders, particularly in Paris, but also locally in Porto.
This is a leadership role that requires excellent people, agile delivery, and technical project management skills.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development:
o Supervise, coach, and develop software engineers and Business Analysts (Frontend, Backend, and Fullstack), ensuring high performance, motivation, and adherence to engineering best practices.
o Manage all Talent Management processes, including Annual Performance Reviews, Career Conversations, Talent Reviews, and Training plans, in alignment with HR guidelines.
o Plan and manage team resources, including sprint velocity planning, capacity planning, and absence management.
o Participate in recruitment activities for new developers, collaborating with HR, conducting technical assessments, and ensuring seamless onboarding.

Operational Excellence & Delivery:
o Monitor and ensure team compliance with sprint/project objectives, proposing corrective actions to align with delivery milestones.
o Coordinate software development and technical activities, allocating tasks (via Jira/Agile frameworks) and ensuring smooth development workflow for a specialized engineering team.
o Contribute engineering expertise to enhance software architecture, code quality, and team technical know-how.
o Ensure the quality and compliance of the codebase, advocating for automated testing, code reviews, and adherence to security and dev standards.
o Ensure high availability and reliability of the developed software solutions post-deployment.
• Strategic Contribution & Project Involvement:
o Support the direct Manager in defining and implementing strategic actions to meet Business Unit goals.
o Participate in software engineering projects related to your area of expertise, focusing on continuous delivery, refactoring, and technical debt reduction.
o Identify and propose actions to improve development efficiency, CI/CD pipelines, and software productivity.
o Contribute to the sourcing strategy and process for IT developer profiles, fostering collaboration between recruitment suppliers and managers.
• Stakeholder Management & Communication:
o Provide regular quantitative (e.g., burn-down charts, release readiness) and qualitative updates to Management through periodic reports.
o Participate in internal and external meetings, representing the engineering team and building cooperative relationships with product owners and business stakeholders.
o Act as a champion of Natixis values and culture, influencing your team and fostering strong communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Master's Degree, Specialized Technical Training in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Professional Experience:
o At least 3 years of experience in People Management / Engineering Management positions (Level II) overseeing software developers.
o Extensive experience in software engineering, with a solid understanding of modern software development life cycles (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
o Experience in Banking & Finance / Fintech environments is a strong asset.
• Technical Skills:
o Strong background in Java development (Spring Boot, microservices).
o Solid understanding of Angular for modern frontend application development.
o Knowledge/experience with Python is a strong plus (highly valued for risk algorithms and data processing modules).
o Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitlabCI), Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud/on-prem deployment concepts.
o Experience steering complex IT software projects, preferably in a multicultural and international environment.
• Leadership & Soft Skills:
o Managerial skills regarding agile resource planning, sprint organization, and technical team mentoring.
o Autonomous decision-making skills and problem-solving abilities for moderately to highly complex technical and functional issues.
o Ability to influence and persuade diverse audiences, fostering commitment and behavioral change.
o Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
o Assertive personality with good negotiation and collaboration skills.
o Strong sense of commitment and ability to embody and pass on the company's culture and engineering values.
• Language: Fluent level of English. Professional level of French.
