We are hiring for a Equipment Service Technician - In House to join our growing team!
Job Description
The role performs all aspects of repairs on various optometric and lab equipment. This position also provides technical support to our retail stores regarding their exam equipment.
What Would You Do? The Specifics.
- Repairs/refurbishes optical equipment. Dismantles, rebuilds, and cleans equipment.
- Evaluates ophthalmic exam equipment following predetermined protocols. Determines if equipment is repairable or should be processed out of the system.
- Installs and maintains the local training room exam equipment.
- Handles local store service calls. Conducts on-site visits to install equipment, repair equipment or swap out equipment. Works with the vendor's technical team to resolve equipment issues, and gathers equipment information.
- Troubleshoots network issues as it pertains to the automated exam equipment.
- Maintains written troubleshooting documentation as new issues and solutions arise. Enhances and streamlines repair processes.
- Processes equipment movement in the inventory system, Microsoft Dynamics (EAM).
- Prepares new store opening’s optical equipment for shipment as necessary. Packs and palletizes equipment when needed.
- Assists with special projects and off-site events. Attends vendor training when applicable.
Qualifications
Work Experience
- 2-4 years of experience in a technical field or mechanical trade (Required)
- Advanced Mechanical knowledge and application (Required)
- Low Volt/networking knowledge (Required)
- Electronics knowledge (Required)
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's Degree
Licenses, Certifications, Professional Affiliations
- GA Driver’s License (Required)
- Forklift certified (Preferred)
