- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) study data from SQL databases into SAS using DATA step, PROC SQL, and parameterized, table-driven control logic.
- Maintain and optimize reusable SAS macros/code libraries; ensure jobs are modular, performant, and well documented.
- Build and maintain SPSS and CSV flat-file exports from SAS with consistent schemas, encodings, and delivery packaging.
- Manage SAS ATTRIBs, informats, labels, and user-defined formats via controlled format catalogs to preserve metadata consistency across waves and clients.
- Standardized datasets and deliverables
- Maintain a portfolio of standardized datasets (SAS, SPSS, CSV) for internal analysis and external client distribution.
- Produce proprietary client-specific SAS datasets per specification, including variable derivations, naming conventions, labels, formats, and delivery schedules.
- Generate data dictionaries, layout specs, and change logs for every release; ensure version control and reproducibility. Variable creation and logic implementation
- Develop, maintain, and run SAS programs to construct complex proprietary variables based on written specifications and table-driven rules.
- Implement table-driven business logic and parameter files to support multi-client, multi-wave production at scale.
- Quality assurance and validation
- Design and maintain SAS-based validation checks (unit tests, reconciliations, row/column balances, referential integrity) with automated exception logs.
- Verify calculations and transformations against specifications, prior waves, and independent SPSS outputs.
- Collaboration and support
- Support ad hoc data pulls and one-off deliverables with clear scoping and reproducibility.
- Contribute to standards, SOPs, code reviews, and continuous improvement of the data production process.
Minimum qualifications
