Job Description
As our Facility Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day operations of a NEXTDC facility, leading a high-performing team of facilities professionals and contractors while ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our world-class data centre environment.

What you’ll do
- Lead the daily operations of the data centre, including facilities teams, contractors, maintenance programs, and the safe operation of critical electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ensure all site asset incidents are effectively managed, reported, and escalated in line with NEXTDC policies and procedures.
- Partner with Customer Operations, Sales, and Service Delivery teams to deliver outstanding customer experiences, seamless provisioning, and successful customer and carrier installations.
- Own and champion Facility Rules, ensuring compliance across customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Manage maintenance contracts and service providers while ensuring the highest standards of workplace health, safety, and operational compliance.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve facility issues quickly while coordinating testing, documentation, and certification requirements for critical infrastructure.
- Prepare operational insights and recommendations that improve technical performance, reliability, efficiency, and customer outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop Facilities team members to create a highly engaged, safety-focused, and high-performing workforce.
- Support risk identification and mitigation through effective management of site risk registers, controls, and operational procedures.
- Promote a strong culture of security awareness, ensuring incidents are appropriately managed and preventative actions are implemented.
- Drive continuous improvement through ongoing performance conversations and development aligned with NEXTDC’s Competency Framework and Facility Management Technical Competency Framework.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in data centre operations or other critical environments, with deep
- 4–6 years’ experience working in data centre facilities or a comparable critical environment.
- Experience with Uptime Institute standards.
- Exposure to project management, design, and construction (Design & Build) environments.
- Degree qualification in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline is desirable.
- Candidates with an Electrical or Mechanical trade qualification or strong trade background will be highly regarded.
