Job Description

Join our dynamic Group Finance team in a senior management role that offers unparalleled opportunities for growth and impact. As a key player supporting the Finance Director, you'll be at the forefront of driving financial excellence and strategic decision-making across our entire organization. With responsibility for financial reporting, process improvement, control, and compliance, this role is perfect for a seasoned professional ready to make their mark.

The NEC Software Solutions (NECSWS) group comprises several trading entities operating in UK, India, Australia, Ireland, Canada and USA.  Since being acquired by NEC in 2018, the NECSWS group as grown organically and by acquisition and now employs over 3,000 people worldwide generating revenues of over £200m.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Control: Lead and manage our UK team, fostering a culture of business partnering and control that drives success. You'll oversee group processes and controls, continuously improving our balance sheet review process. With your expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), you'll ensure compliance across all regions/entities, while also adapting to changes in accounting standards and their impact on financial statements. Supporting tax reporting, compliance, and returns will be part of your remit, as will be serving as a key liaison with external advisors and senior management.

Process Improvement: Manage our dedicated team in Mumbai, focusing on driving process improvement initiatives for accounting and balance sheet control across the group. By maximizing the skills and resources of your team, you'll contribute to the seamless expansion of our business. Your expertise will be invaluable in integrating acquisitions into our back-office systems and processes, as well as representing the business on a global SAP implementation.

Projects: Embrace exciting projects that are integral to our success. You'll oversee the integration of acquisitions into our back-office systems, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. Additionally, you'll spearhead balance sheet reporting for the group, providing valuable insights for decision-making. As a representative of the business, you'll actively contribute to a global SAP implementation.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Qualified Accountant with a proven track record in financial management and reporting.
  • Knowledge of multi-site taxation is advantageous.
  • Excellent understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel to India (1-2 trips per year) and across the UK as required.

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in financial reporting and accounting standards within a large corporate group.
  • Proficiency in corporation tax and sales taxes.
  • Previous exposure to working in a complex, multi-entity environment.
