About NEC Control Room:

Our Control Room Division is developing the next generation of mission critical blue light communications, using cutting edge technology. 

Our software literally saves people’s lives by effectively and efficiently enabling the emergency services to communicate faster, more accurately and in new and innovative ways. We provide a full end -to-end solution for any critical communication control room whether this be emergency services, aviation, marine, transport or the energy sector. 

The technologies used within the in Control Room application suite include Angular, C#, .NET and SQL Server. TDD being leveraged using SpecFlow. 

What you will be doing:

You will directly impact how our organisation builds public safety software by delivering a reliable communication capability.

• Develop scalable multi-tier solutions that will operate 24x7 and are hosted by ourselves or others.  
• Produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
• Mentor less experienced colleagues using both your technical knowledge and leadership skills to help build a business critical team.
• Collaborate with other cross-domain teams.
• Occasional UK travel to support the NATS (Network Approval Testing Service) accreditation process.

​​​​​​​What we are looking for:

• Demonstrable experience with object oriented design, coding and testing using C# and .NET Core.
• Comfortable with Agile methods, such as Scrum and/or Kanban.
• Experience with relational databases, database architecture, and distributed transaction management.

The following would be a bonus:

• Working knowledge of technology such as Azure, Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience of critical communications standards such as TETRA / Airwave, LTE or 3GPP.
