Job Description
Network Engineer – Cloud & Automation | 6 Month Contract | Macquarie Park
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join a large enterprise environment on a 6-month contract in Macquarie Park.
This is a hands-on network engineering role requiring strong traditional networking expertise combined with modern cloud networking and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
You’ll need strong experience across:
Core Networking
- Strong expertise in TCP/IP, BGP/OSPF routing protocols, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, and VPN configurations.
Cloud Networking
- Expertise in virtual networks, VPC peering, transit gateways, load balancers, and cloud NAT/gateways across AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Hybrid Connectivity
- Experience setting up secure enterprise extensions using AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, or dedicated cloud interconnects.
Infrastructure as Code – ESSENTIAL
- Proficiency in automating network provisioning using tools like Terraform, or AWS CloudFormation.
Security & Automation
- Implementation of network security groups, firewalls, zero-trust architectures, and Identity and Access Management policies
Qualifications
- Proven ability to design and optimise Data Network and Security infrastructure within complex, large-scale, multi-site enterprise environments.
- Typically 3–5 years’ hands-on experience across traditional network engineering and cloud infrastructure management.
- Demonstrated experience designing and deploying highly available, fault-tolerant and scalable multi-region cloud network topologies.
- Traditional networking certifications such as CCIE, CCNP or CCDP are also desirable.
