Job Description

 

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance applications, services, APIs, and libraries primarily using Rust.
  • Deliver robust, scalable, and secure software solutions that operate across distributed and edge computing environments.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and Engineers to define technical solutions and successfully deliver sprint outcomes.
  • Develop integrations with external devices and systems, implementing communication protocols and data exchange interfaces.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex production issues, continuously improving system reliability, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Contribute to the design and support of Linux-based platforms that host and operate software solutions.
  • Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable, automated software testing, deployment, and release management.
  • Support containerised application deployments using technologies such as Docker.
  • Implement and promote engineering best practices including code reviews, automated testing, secure software development, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Manage software updates, patches, and dependency upgrades to ensure platform stability and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for technology, tooling, and process improvements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, ensuring solutions, processes, and learnings are captured and shared across the engineering team.
  • Participate in operational support activities and contribute to ongoing platform reliability, observability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in software engineering roles.
  • Strong commercial development experience with Rust.
  • Experience building APIs, backend services, and distributed applications.
  • Strong understanding of software design principles, testing practices, and system architecture.
  • Experience working with Linux environments.
  • Experience with Git-based development workflows and modern CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker.
  • Familiarity with messaging and integration technologies.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and modern communication protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Experience working in Agile development teams.
