Job Description

  • Partner with Product Managers and Designers to understand customer needs, shape technical solutions, and lead an Agile team to deliver roadmap priorities and sprint outcomes.
  • Provide technical leadership across architecture, software design, security, performance, scalability, reliability, and engineering best practices.
  • Lead and contribute to the development, testing, deployment, and support of cloud-native applications, microservices, APIs, platforms, and user interfaces.
  • Champion Agile, DevOps, SRE, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, code reviews, automated testing, and secure software development practices.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Leads, Architects, and Product teams to drive technology, process, tooling, and platform improvements.
  • Support technical decision-making, technology selection, architecture governance, and alignment with engineering standards and reference architectures.
  • Oversee platform and cloud engineering activities, including infrastructure automation, containerisation, deployment pipelines, monitoring, observability, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure delivery of secure, scalable, resilient, and maintainable solutions that meet customer and business objectives.
  • Support product deployments, customer implementations, technical escalations, training, and ongoing operational support.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, promote knowledge sharing, and foster a high-performing, collaborative engineering culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement across people, processes, technology, and delivery, while documenting and communicating outcomes to enable repeatable and sustainable practices.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and role model company values across all interactions.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading or mentoring engineers within Agile software development teams.
  • Strong software engineering background with hands-on experience in Rust and exposure to Python and/or C++.
  • Experience designing and delivering scalable, secure, and reliable applications, APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, system integration, and modern engineering practices.
  • Experience with DevOps, SRE, CI/CD, automated testing, Infrastructure as Code, and secure software development.
  • Knowledge of AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Familiarity with networking and integration technologies including REST, gRPC, MQTT, JSON, XML, and Protobuf.
  • Experience with engineering tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Experience working with cloud-native, edge, IoT, or other distributed systems environments.
  • Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience.
