Humanoid Robotics Shows & Experiences
Role Overview
We are looking for an entrepreneurial and hands-on Event & Robotics Experience Manager to build and operate a new business around humanoid robotics shows, demonstrations and technology experiences.
This role will own the end-to-end event lifecycle — from event concept, marketing and client engagement through to costing, planning, logistics, technical coordination and on-site execution.
As this is an emerging technology business, the successful candidate is expected to go beyond traditional event management. You will continuously develop new show concepts, audience experiences, robotics demonstrations and commercial event packages that differentiate our offering and create repeat business.
You will lead a small technical operations team of up to 3 team members, working closely with robotics engineers, technology partners, vendors and clients to deliver safe, reliable and engaging live experiences.
Key Responsibilities
1. Event Concept & Business Development
- Develop innovative concepts for humanoid robotics shows, demonstrations, corporate events, exhibitions, launches and public experiences.
- Identify new event formats, customer segments and commercial opportunities for robotics experiences.
- Develop repeatable show packages and customised experiences based on client requirements.
- Work with technology and robotics teams to translate emerging capabilities into compelling event experiences.
- Research robotics and event trends to continuously refresh the company's show portfolio.
2. Event Planning & Production
- Own the end-to-end planning and execution of events from initial brief to post-event review.
- Develop event concepts, proposals, production plans, schedules, run sheets and show flows.
- Coordinate venue requirements including space, flooring, power, connectivity, access, storage and operating conditions.
- Conduct site surveys and technical walkthroughs to identify operational constraints early.
- Coordinate rehearsals, demonstrations, stage movements, audience interaction and show cues.
- Manage event setup, live operations and teardown.
3. Commercial Costing & Resource Planning
- Prepare event quotations, budgets and cost models covering:
- Robot and technical resources
- Manpower
- Logistics and transportation
- Venue and production requirements
- AV / staging / lighting
- Insurance and permits
- Customisation and content development
- Setup and teardown
- Track event profitability, budget utilisation and project margins.
- Manage vendor quotations, procurement and commercial negotiations.
- Build reusable costing templates and event packages to improve quotation speed and profitability.
4. Robotics & Technical Operations
- Coordinate with robotics engineers and operators to ensure robots are event-ready.
- Plan robot deployment, transportation, charging, batteries, controllers, networking and supporting equipment.
- Ensure pre-event testing, rehearsal and technical readiness.
- Establish operational checklists and contingency plans for robot or technology failures.
- Coordinate technical troubleshooting during live events and ensure appropriate escalation.
- Maintain equipment inventory, readiness schedules and deployment records.
5. Safety & Risk Management
- Incorporate robotics-specific safety requirements into every event plan.
- Establish robot operating zones, crowd separation, emergency stop procedures and safe operating protocols.
- Conduct event risk assessments and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are in place.
- Coordinate relevant venue requirements, permits, insurance and safety documentation.
- Develop contingency plans for robot failure, network failure, power issues, venue changes and other show disruptions.
6. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary client contact from initial enquiry through event completion.
- Understand client objectives and translate them into practical robotics experiences.
- Manage expectations around robot capabilities, limitations, operating conditions and show requirements.
- Coordinate with venues, event agencies, production companies, technology partners and suppliers.
- Provide regular project updates and resolve issues proactively.
- Build long-term client relationships and identify opportunities for repeat engagements.
7. Event Marketing & Brand Development
- Develop marketing ideas and campaigns to promote robotics shows and experiences.
- Work with marketing teams to create event collateral, videos, demonstrations, case studies and social media content.
- Identify opportunities for demonstrations at industry events, exhibitions, conferences and corporate functions.
- Build a portfolio of compelling robotics experiences that can be reused and customised across clients.
- Capture event content, customer feedback and success stories to support future sales and marketing.
8. Team Leadership
- Lead and schedule a small technical operations team of up to 3 staff.
- Allocate manpower across event preparation, testing, logistics and live operations.
- Establish standard operating procedures, checklists and training requirements.
- Develop team capability in robot operation, event execution and customer interaction.
- Foster a culture of reliability, safety, experimentation and continuous improvement.
9. Continuous Innovation
- Monitor developments in humanoid robotics, embodied AI and interactive technology.
- Experiment with new robot performance formats, interactive experiences and human-robot collaboration concepts.
- Work with technology partners to test new capabilities and convert them into marketable event experiences.
- Analyse event feedback, audience engagement and commercial performance to improve future shows.
- Build a pipeline of new concepts so the business remains differentiated as robotics technology evolves.
