We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Software Engineer with expertise in Java and SQL to join our growing engineering team in Singapore. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain robust software applications while ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient solutions that meet our organization's technical standards and business objectives.

What will you do? 

• Develop, test, and deploy Java-based applications and services using industry best practices and coding standards
• Design and optimize SQL queries and database schemas to ensure efficient data retrieval and storage
• Analyze technical requirements and translate them into well-structured, maintainable code
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to maintain code quality
• Troubleshoot and debug complex software issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and development through testing and deployment
• Document code, technical specifications, and architectural decisions for team reference and knowledge sharing

The ideal candidate should possess

• Proficiency in Java programming with a strong understanding of object-oriented principles
• Advanced SQL knowledge, including query optimization and database design
• Minimum 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience with relational database management systems
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git or similar)
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Experience with software testing and quality assurance practices

**Preferred Skills & Experience:**

• Experience with popular Java frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, etc.)
• Knowledge of software design patterns and architectural principles
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies
• Experience developing RESTful APIs
• Understanding of database performance tuning and indexing strategies
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools
• Exposure to cloud platforms or microservices architecture
