Job Description

OVERVIEW

The Senior Programme Manager is responsible for leading the planning, governance and delivery of a portfolio of strategic technology programmes, major initiatives and standalone projects across NBCUniversal’s global enterprise environment. Working closely with senior technology and business leaders, this role translates strategic direction into structured delivery plans, roadmaps, budgets, governance, executive reporting and operational readiness activities.

This is a highly autonomous delivery role, operating as a trusted strategic partner to senior leadership. The role may oversee several large portfolio items at any one time, each with multiple workstreams, dependencies and sub-projects, alongside separate business-critical initiatives. It creates structure, accountability and momentum across complex delivery activity, coordinating technical subject matter experts, business stakeholders, Finance, Procurement and third-party vendors to ensure initiatives are delivered effectively from concept through to operational handover.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the planning, governance and delivery of a mixed portfolio of strategic programmes, major initiatives and standalone projects, including portfolio items made up of multiple workstreams, dependencies and sub-projects.
  • Translate senior leadership priorities into clear delivery plans, programme roadmaps, workstreams, milestones and measurable outcomes.
  • Provide leadership across programme teams and promote programme management best practices.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate programme governance, including integrated plans, RAID logs, decision records, action tracking, dependency management and leadership reporting.
  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery across technical teams, business stakeholders, Finance, Procurement, PMO, vendors and external delivery partners.
  • Develop and maintain programme budgets, forecasts and financial tracking, ensuring expenditure, commercial commitments and key variances are clearly understood and communicated.
  • Monitor programme performance, risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
  • Support procurement and vendor activities, including statement of work coordination, milestone tracking, invoice review, purchasing activity and supplier delivery oversight.
  • Produce high-quality executive updates, steering committee materials, dashboards and presentations that provide clear visibility of progress, risks, dependencies, decisions and financial performance.
  • Develop business cases, benefits realization plans, and ROI analyses.
  • Drive accountability and momentum across programme teams, ensuring actions, decisions and commitments are documented, followed through and escalated where appropriate.
  • Partner with senior leadership on long range planning, investment planning, resource forecasting, portfolio planning and strategic roadmap development.
  • Ensure operational readiness is considered throughout delivery, including support models, onboarding workflows, device and workplace technology readiness, handover activity and transition into business-as-usual operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve programme governance, delivery practices, reporting, documentation and operational outcomes across the portfolio.

  • Experience delivering technology workstreams for real estate activity, including new site builds, office moves, refurbishments, consolidations and workplace transformation programmes.
  • Experience supporting business-led change where technology delivery is required to solve operational challenges, improve user experience or enable new ways of working.
  • Experience coordinating workplace technology readiness across business change initiatives, ensuring requirements, delivery plans, phasing and support arrangements are clearly defined.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technology environments, including infrastructure, networking, end user computing, workplace technology, unified communications, cyber security, identity and access, automation and AI-enabled service transformation.
  • Experience developing leadership reporting, programme dashboards, steering committee materials, financial summaries and executive presentations.
