Job Description

The Manager of Ad Sales Marketing position is responsible for working with key stakeholders, internally and externally, to help increase sales for the Olympic and Paralympic Sales Marketing Group. Reporting to the Director, Olympics Marketing, this position will help in the creation of sales materials and development of custom marketing elements of select categories of business from a pre-sale, execution and post-sale perspective.

This role requires a highly strategic and creative marketer who can transform complex information into compelling sales narratives and actionable marketing programs. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing big-picture sponsorship concepts, creating business-compelling presentations, managing 360 integrated executions, and making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. Working across Sales, Production, Legal, Research, and other cross-functional teams, this candidate must be able to effectively understand client objectives to develop innovative, sellable, and revenue driving programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership & Strategy
    • Responsible for developing NBC Olympics sales marketing materials for key advertisers and prospects, including pitch decks supported by client, category, consumer, and marketplace research
    • Proactively identify sponsorable opportunities that align with clients’ business and marketing objectives
    • Partner with appropriate internal teams to develop strategic responses to client briefs and marketplace opportunities
    • Manage client deliverables, approvals, and timelines leading up to the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games
    • Evaluate opportunities, identify potential challenges, and make recommendations that drive projects forward efficiently
  • Program Execution:
    • Manage the execution of 360 marketing programs, working with NBC producers and editorial teams to ensure we’re delivering on behalf of our partners
    • Work with key counterparts in Production, Programming, Consumer Marketing, Insights & Measurement and NBCU One Platform groups as well as other teams across NBCUniversal to ensure successful and quality execution of all sponsorship elements
  • Presentation & Storytelling:
    • Serve as a part of the overall sales process, including development of assets to highlight/showcase the offerings, and be a part of key client meetings to present marketing opportunities
    • Ability to understand and distill complex research metrics used in the development of sales narratives
  • People Management:
    • Manage and mentor a junior member of the Olympic Sales Marketing team
    • Develop and coordinate an internal training plan for a junior member of the team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience within an agency, client, media company, or sales and marketing organizations, with a strong understanding of the sponsorship sales process and a proven track record of developing and executing impactful marketing programs for advertisers
  • Aptitude and direct experience in developing sports sponsorships or marketing solutions
  • Proficiency in visual storytelling with skill in Powerpoint, Keynote, and Photoshop

Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Salary range: $95,000 - $105,000 (sales incentive compensation eligible)
