Job Description
OVERVIEW
NBC Sports Boston is seeking a multi-platform producer, content creation to join our Digital team. In this role, you will be responsible for writing, editing and managing content on NBC Sports Boston’s digital platforms; using creative tools to disseminate content on our website, app and social media accounts; and helping design and execute content plans around tentpole events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and manage timely, relevant written content around Boston sports by monitoring news sources and identifying key storylines. Content creation includes writing enticing headlines, selecting proper complementary content such as photos and video, and crafting social media messaging that engages our audience.
- Collaborate with NBC Sports Boston’s multi-platform Content Group to produce articles that pair with exclusive video content such as linear segments, podcast episodes and original videos.
- Assist in the editing of all content from NBC Sports Boston’s team of Content Producers and Insiders to ensure a consistent and appropriate voice, tone and presentation.

Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS in Communications, Journalism or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a fast-paced news environment.
- Experience working with WordPress or a similar CMS.
- Experience working with social media publishing tools such as Sprout and SocialFlow.
- Working knowledge of graphics editing tools such as Canva and Photoshop.
- Basic understanding of HTML and web video editing tools.
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to deliver clean, engaging copy in a timely fashion. Knowledge of AP style and SEO best practices is strongly encouraged.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of social media tools and off-platform channels, including Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Bluesky, YouTube and Reddit.
- Must be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision but also is able to work effectively within a team environment.
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must have extensive knowledge of Boston-area professional sports teams, including the Celtics, Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins, Legacy, and Sun.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and be adept at multitasking with a proven track record of delivering quality content in a timely fashion on deadline.
- Must be willing to work in Needham, Mass.
- Must be able to work evening hours, as well as weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must have the ability to appear as forward-facing contributor on NBC Sports Boston digital and linear programming.
- Create and manage timely, relevant written content around Boston sports by monitoring news sources and identifying stories, Actively participate in all content ideation planning meetings as well as larger corporate discussions as needed
- Coordinate with the Executive Producer, Content Integrations to disseminate best practices and trends to other members of the team and additionally assist in on-boarding new employees
- Participate in developing, implementing and maintaining an efficient workflow in a fast-paced content operation
- Work with internal and external distribution partners to maximize the reach of NBC Sports Boston content
- Assist in the editing of all content from NBC Sports Boston digital team of producers and Insiders to ensure a consistent and appropriate voice, tone and presentation that engages fans
- Ensure all content, regardless of platform, meets NBC Sports Boston’s standards for journalistic integrity and production quality
- Work with linear programming and production team to help execute editorial strategies
- Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
