Job Description
NBC4 is seeking a Platform Manager (Newscast Producer) who will be responsible for producing newscasts, breaking news and special events across all the station’s linear and online platforms.
We are looking for a rockstar producer who is full of ideas and creativity who can take a show or a project from pitch to production. Do you love breaking news, digging deeper into the big story and writing compelling teases? If so, we are looking for you!
- Maintain editorial standards aligned with the “4 You” brand (fairness, accuracy, balance) including playing an active role in the editorial process
- Produce assigned daily newscasts, breaking news, and special projects across linear and digital platforms
- Lead creative production and writing, including compelling teases and headline-driven storytelling
- Partner with content producers to select, shape, and sequence the most relevant stories
- Collaborate with anchors, directors, and the production team to deliver smooth, seamless newscasts
- Coordinate with Daypart and Platform Managers to ensure complete local coverage across platforms
- Work with the digital team to integrate social/mobile content and advocate for station digital platforms
- Write, produce, desktop edit, and gather content as needed across platforms
- Coach, mentor, and help support a pool of content producers as needed
- Produce content for special projects assigned
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience producing a high-quality, daily newscast under tight deadlines in a major market
- Must be willing and able to work weekends, holidays and varying shifts as assigned and when necessary to meet operational demands
- Strong experience with writing, producing, and desktop editing including systems like Dalet and Adobe Premiere
- Proficiency in newsroom production software and broadcast technology
Eligibility Requirements
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be 18 years or greater.
- Must have a valid driver's license

Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
