The Legal Assistant for Karamo supports the Legal and Production teams in managing all guest, staff, and production-related documentation to ensure each episode is legally compliant and production-ready. This role is essential in maintaining the accuracy, organization, and efficiency of the legal workflow for a fast-paced daily talk show.

This is a Stamford, CT–based position and requires on-site presence during tape weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Legal team throughout each tape cycle by preparing and tracking guest releases, appearance agreements, and related documentation.
  • Review and finalize binder checklists, ensuring all required legal materials are uploaded and filed correctly in the show’s systems.
  • Maintain and update legal tracking systems.
  • Communicate with Producing Teams to ensure timely execution and upload of all guest and staff releases.
  • Manage the Karamo Legal email inbox and DocuSign account to ensure all critical documents are processed and archived.
  • Prepare Aftercare Sheets, Release Recordings, and related legal documentation for tape days.
  • Assist with background checks, story clearance, and due diligence for third-party vendors, experts, and integrations.
  • Maintain staff legal paperwork (NDAs, Legal Guidelines, Appearance Releases) and organize records in the Legal share drive and Show System.
  • Coordinate with Audience and Accounting departments to ensure proper documentation for audience releases, gift/prize approvals, and other compliance materials.
  • Upload and manage agreements, cue sheets, and clearance documents within Scenechronize and other production systems.
  • Support wardrobe compliance on show days as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in legal administration, television production, or entertainment law preferred.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Docusign, and document management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment and managing multiple priorities.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work regular business hours.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, outside of regular business hours, holidays, and weekends, sometimes on short notice due to project deadlines.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the Stamford, CT office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
