Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
Versant Network seeking a Video Editor to edit Promotions/Marketing content for Versant News Division, but not limited to. The candidate must be creative, edit complex projects, have strong technical skills, work well under pressure, work well in a team environment and deliver top caliber content.
Responsibilities:
- Daily editing of Promotions/Marketing content, as well as sales tapes, sizzles, marketing campaigns, trailers, digital content, podcasts, longform projects and more in a live news environment
- Work collaboratively with other Editors, Producers, Graphics teams, Management and other Departments
- Be fully engaged on all projects offering creative and editorial input
- Edit independently while unsupervised
- Ensure all audio/video levels are accurate, meet broadcast standards and ready for air
- Keep up to date with the latest technologies available and researching ways on how to implement into our workflow in improving efficiency and the overall look of our edited projects
- Train other editors as requested by Management
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 8 years’ experience editing Promotions/Marketing projects, as well as other projects in a live broadcast news environment with minimal or no guidance
- Strong knowledge of Avid Edit system, FX editing, Audio editing, Graphics and Animations
- Experience in implementing creative direction of videos, multimedia projects and animations
- Strong knowledge of other NLE’s is helpful
- Strong knowledge of file based formats
- Ability to successfully perform in a deadline oriented environment
- Ability to independently pace and prioritize workload while working on several projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with people in high-pressure situations
- Excellent organizational skills
- Fundamental technical skills, with ability to troubleshoot and fix basic problems with edit systems
- Must be flexible and able to work all shifts including early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
- Work a hybrid schedule

This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
