Paid Internship Opportunity – Project Management (Change Management Tracker & Handbook Development)
Department: Project Management
Duration: Six‑week paid placement
Eligibility: 1st or 2nd year undergraduate students (Business, Business Management, Project Management or related disciplines)
Navantia UK/Harland & Wolff is offering a six‑week paid internship designed to give an undergraduate student hands‑on experience in project and change management. This placement provides meaningful exposure to day‑to‑day business operations while supporting the development of practical tools that will be used across the organisation.
The intern will help create a change management tracker and a supporting change handbook, contributing to a live improvement project that enhances how teams plan, record and deliver change.
About the Role
Working within the Project Management team, the intern will support change management activity by reviewing current processes, organising information, and helping to build a streamlined, consistent approach to managing change. This role is ideal for students who are organised, proactive, and confident using IT tools such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
Key Responsibilities
- Review existing internal systems and map the current end‑to‑end change process.
Identify gaps, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
Develop a change management tracker that captures stakeholders, deadlines, status updates, next action owners and automated overdue alerts.
Produce a weekly reporting format for the tracker.
Draft a clear, practical change handbook outlining the full lifecycle of the change process.
Create internal guidance and governance materials.
Deliver a short training session demonstrating how to use the tracker and handbook.
By the end of the placement, the intern will have:
Developed practical change management tools with real business value.
Gained insight into how structured projects are planned, communicated and delivered.
Built skills in organisation, analysis, communication and coordination.
Worked with information from multiple departments, gaining a broader understanding of business operations.
Grown confidence working within a professional project environment.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this placement should be able to demonstrate the following:
- Currently studying in the first or second year of an undergraduate degree.
- Studying a relevant subject such as Business Management, Project Management, Management, Business and Finance, or a related discipline
- Interested in how projects are planned, managed, and delivered within a professional setting.
- Able to organise information clearly and work with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comfortable communicating with others and contributing positively within a team.
- Motivated to learn, take initiative, and make a meaningful contribution during the placement.
