NASTAD serves as the Systems Coordination Provider (SCP) for the 47 Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) Parts A and B jurisdictions funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA-20-078), as part of the Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America (EHE) initiative. As part of this work, NASTAD develops tools and resources to support health departments in EHE Phase I jurisdictions to improve coordination across health systems and collaboration with key stakeholder groups.

Job Description
Purpose and Description
The Manager, Prevention, as part of NASTAD’s prevention team, supports the organization’s capacity to support health departments (HDs) and community-based organizations (CBOs) implementation of high-impact HIV prevention programs. The position works primarily on NASTAD’s CDC-funded Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) project to provide technical assistance to HDs implementing PS18-1802, and to CBOs implementing PS21-2102.
The position is responsible for managing NASTAD’s outreach and relationship-building with CBOs in the southern United States. The Manager, Prevention also contributes to NASTAD’s e-learning environment, including on-boarding of HD/CBO staff, promoting content, and managing follow-up. This position also develops and implements technical assistance, such as workshops, webinars and peer-to-peer technical assistance engagements.
Minimum Competencies
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
· Demonstrated expertise, conceptual understanding of monitoring and evaluation techniques, (including M&E planning, development, and implementation), and sufficient professional experience to carry out complex assignments with minimal supervision.
· Ability to lead the coordination of activities across program areas within NASTAD, consultants, and partnering organizations, including state and local public health programs, deadlines, and priorities.
· Ability to develop and deploy data collection tools and techniques to track, monitor and evaluate numerous cooperative agreements.
· Ability to anticipate resource shortages, address emerging project delays, and negotiate adjustments as needed to maximize project resources to achieve the project’s objectives.
· Demonstrated originality and creativity implementing monitoring and evaluation and data dissemination activities.
· Experience in developing monitoring and evaluation materials including reports, graphics and learning modules.
Essential Functions
· Manage outreach and relationship-building with CBOs by coordinating content for “CBO Hub”; producing the “Southern Steep” podcast; and managing CBO informational visits
· Manage development and delivery of technical assistance to HDs and CBOs on topics related to social determinants of health and health equity
· Strategize and recommend new technical assistance products specifically for CBOs
· Maintain NASTAD’s Southern CBO Directory and CBO Map
· Contribute to content development and management of NASTAD’s e-learning environment known as Online Technical Assistance Platform (OnTAP)
· Develop and implement activities to promote NASTAD’s CBA activities (i.e, traditional media, social media, blogs, webinars, infographics, etc.)
· Manage relationships, as assigned, with key external consultants and partners
· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Demonstrated interest in public health, HIV (or a related field)
· Demonstrated experience in curricula development, training, or e-learning
· Demonstrated experience using or managing distance-learning platforms
· Experience or familiarity with HIV program promotion, marketing and public health communication strategies
· Experience working with and providing technical assistance on HIV prevention to community-based organizations
· Experience coordinating projects while interfacing with multiple entities
· Experience or interest in podcasting and microsite development/management
· The ability and desire to work cooperatively with others on a team
· The ability to express oneself clearly in conversations and interactions with others
- Demonstrated understanding of health equity and a commitment to incorporating social justice concepts in public health programming.
· The ability to express oneself clearly in business writing
· Satisfactory training and facilitation skills
Experience/Education
· Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of training, education, and lived experience that demonstrates the candidate’s ability to perform the position’s duties.
· At least 6 years of progressively responsible work experience related to public health, health equity, or US health care systems.
· Experience working with health departments and community-based organizations
· Experience providing TA for health department staff and/or CBOs is strongly preferred.
· Experience working effectively across functional teams.

- Salary range - $61,200 - $64,800
