As a Senior Air Freight Operator, you’ll play a key role in keeping freight moving smoothly across the globe. You’ll manage the end-to-end coordination of air freight shipments, ensuring every job is handled accurately, efficiently, and in line with customer expectations, carrier schedules, and compliance requirements.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where no two days are the same. You’ll be the go-to person for shipment updates, problem-solving, and keeping customers informed, while working closely with airlines, overseas partners, customs brokers, transport providers, and internal teams to deliver great outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

• Coordinating air import and export shipments from booking through to final delivery.
• Working with airlines, overseas agents, customs brokers, transport providers, and customers to ensure smooth movement of freight.
• Preparing and checking shipping documentation, including airway bills, manifests, invoices, and customs paperwork.
• Making sure all shipments meet regulatory, airline, and company compliance requirements.
• Tracking freight and proactively resolving delays, issues, or exceptions.
• Keeping customers and internal stakeholders informed with timely, accurate updates.
• Assisting with rate enquiries, pricing, and booking confirmations.
• Working with warehouse and transport teams to ensure cargo flows seamlessly.
• Supporting invoice checking, cost control, and accurate job file management.
• Helping mentor junior team members and supporting process improvements where needed.

• 2+ years experience in freight forwarding, shipping agency, or logistics coordination, including booking releases, SI/VGM handling, and invoicing (IV/DN/PV).
• Strong understanding of import/export processes and freight documentation.
• Confidence using freight systems, airline platforms, and customs processes.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to stay calm, organised, and solution-focused in a busy environment.
• A sharp eye for detail and a strong sense of ownership.
