Summary:

The Electrician Lead provides hands-on leadership and technical guidance for electrical assembly, installation, and troubleshooting activities within industrial and commercial production environments. This role ensures electrical work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with NEC standards. The Electrician Lead supports and directs Electricians and Apprentices, assists with workflow coordination, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support production goals and maintain high-quality standards.

Accountabilities:

• Lead daily electrical operations, ensuring proper installation, modification, and testing of electrical systems, equipment, and controls.
• Assist in assigning, scheduling, and prioritizing electrical tasks to meet production deadlines and project requirements.
• Read and interpret schematic drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, work orders, and specifications; ensure accurate installation and assembly procedures are followed.
• Support installation of electrical raceways, including conduit, wireways, and cable trays.
• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot house utilities, control wiring, and electrical equipment using NEC standards, diagrams, and testing devices.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentorship to apprentices, helpers, and electrical team members.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, state guidelines, and company quality standards.
• Conduct quality checks on electrical work to verify accurate wiring, proper equipment assembly, and adherence to diagrams.
• Assist in training and mentoring team members; support skill development and provide performance feedback.
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with labor reporting as required.
• Support development and updates to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for electrical work.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Safety teams to coordinate workflow and resolve technical issues.
• Promote and follow all safety protocols; maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager or Supervisor.

Required Knowledge/Experience:

• Completion of a National Electrical Code (NEC) certified apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
• Journeyman Electrical License preferred but not required (Idaho or reciprocity-eligible state).
• 8,000+ verifiable hours of experience as an Electrician in an industrial or construction environment.
• Prior lead or team support experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control wiring, and industrial equipment.
• Understanding of materials, tools, and methods used in electrical installation and control panel assembly.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and blueprints.
• Experience with electrical testing equipment such as voltmeters and MEGGER testers.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety practices related to electrical work.
• Physical ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and crouch for 8–10 hours and lift up to 50 lbs or push/pull up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Hourly (non-exempt) role; project demands may require extended hours, including weekends or holidays.
• Work performed primarily in a manufacturing environment with exposure to indoor and outdoor conditions.
• Mobility: Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, or crouch for extended periods.
• Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands to handle wiring, tools, and electrical components.
• Lifting Requirements: Up to 50 lbs; pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Visual/Auditory Requirements: Must distinguish wiring colors, read schematics, and hear instructions/alarms.
• Must successfully complete background and drug screening.
