Job Description

The Electrical Engineer plays a key role in designing, analyzing, and testing electrical power equipment and systems. This position transforms custom specifications into detailed drawings and schematics for unique electrical power solutions. The engineer will use electrical layout CAD tools to develop technical documentation and may occasionally serve as a point of contact for field support during installation and maintenance. This role is vital in ensuring projects meet customer expectations, industry standards, and regulatory compliance directly contributing to client satisfaction and overall project success.

Accountabilities:

  • Prepare One‑Line diagrams, technical drawings, and specifications for packaged backup electrical power systems, ensuring installations meet quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Develop designs integrating electrical components such as generators, breakers, transformers, control panels, and distribution systems.
  • Create load‑balanced circuit diagrams.
  • Perform engineering analysis on electrical systems used in JTS products.
  • Create and manage electrical Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Evaluate electrical equipment for compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, government regulations, and performance criteria.
  • Ensure adherence to safety codes and regulations in all electrical designs and installations.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, engineers, departments, and external partners to support successful project execution.
  • Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
  • Research emerging technologies, trends, and methods to enhance product design and system performance.
  • Consider manufacturing requirements and cost factors when developing system designs.
  • Participate in the development of project plans and support engineering activities for clients.
  • Identify design or build issues, develop solutions, prepare documentation, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Provide clear technical documentation, updates, and support to project teams and management.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within industrial, power generation, or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with electrical power distribution systems, including system design and analysis.
  • Knowledge of generator systems and backup power solutions, including integration and application.
  • Proficiency in electrical design, including load calculations, equipment sizing, and power system layouts.
  • Experience designing industrial control panels in accordance with applicable industry standards.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC/NFPA 70) and its application in electrical system design and compliance.
  • Ability to design load‑balanced electrical systems and accurately produce One‑Line diagrams.
  • Experience in electrical power systems, equipment design, construction materials, and related techniques preferred.
  • Knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70), IBC, NFPA, and related electrical and construction safety codes preferred.
  • Proficiency with electrical layout CAD tools; AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience preferred.
  • UL508A certification preferred; 508A training available for candidates without the certification.
