Job Description

The AWS Infrastructure Architect for Enterprise IVR Platform is a senior technical leader responsible for designing and guiding AWS infrastructure that enables a decoupled IVR application architecture while protecting platform stability and existing investments.

This role ensures that cloud infrastructure supports IVR runtime, API orchestration, and integration layers without introducing operational risk, latency issues, or architectural lock-in. The Architect balances modernization with reliability, ensuring that the IVR application layer remains platform-agnostic and resilient.

Working closely with Application Architects, IVR Engineers, Middleware teams, and enterprise stakeholders, this role provides pragmatic infrastructure leadership grounded in enterprise constraints, multi-region operations, and voice-specific performance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Own and define end-to-end AWS infrastructure architecture for IVR and voice platforms
  • Design and guide infrastructure that supports decoupled IVR application architecture without introducing platform risk
  • Define AWS infrastructure supporting IVR runtime and API orchestration. 
  • Ensure the IVR application layer remains platform-agnostic
  • Design scalable, low-latency integration patterns between call control, middleware, and backend services
  • Support discovery workshops with infrastructure feasibility insights. 
  • Produce structured technical planning notes aligned to the client's cadence expectations. 
  • Guide cost optimization strategies and cloud resource governance
  • Identify performance constraints, scalability risks, and architectural bottlenecks early
  • Review cloud implementations to ensure compliance with architectural standards
  • Support complex production issues from a systemic cloud architecture perspective
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on feasibility assessments, technical planning, and risk management

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on AWS architecture experience (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, VPC networking)
  • Proven experience designing high-availability, multi-region, and hybrid (on-prem + AWS) architectures
  • Solid Infrastructure as Code expertise (Terraform or CloudFormation)
  • Strong understanding of observability patterns (CloudWatch, logging pipelines, monitoring)
  • Experience designing secure, API-first, service-to-service communication patterns
  • Experience supporting Java/J2EE enterprise environments and database connectivity models
  • Understanding of low-latency design principles for voice systems, including SIP basics and event-driven call flows
  • Ability to design infrastructure that enables IVR application decoupling while protecting platform stability
  • Strong architectural risk assessment, scalability planning, and feasibility analysis skills
  • Ability to produce structured, concise technical planning documentation for enterprise stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills across technical and business audiences

Nice to have:

  • Experience supporting IVR, Genesys, SIP, or voice platforms in AWS is a strong advantage
  • Experience supporting FreeSWITCH or telephony edge integrations
  • Experience migrating legacy IVR platforms to cloud or hybrid models
  • Experience designing abstraction or normalization layers
  • Exposure to large-scale IVR modernization programs
