Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) team. The role focuses on building, maintaining, and optimizing scalable data pipelines that power investment, risk, research, and analytics use cases across the organization. As a senior member, you will drive architectural decisions, lead complex initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the robustness and scalability of the data platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and deliver end-to-end EDP data solutions using Python, Airflow, DBT, and Snowflake, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and scalability goals.
- Lead complex, cross-system data pipeline initiatives, driving performance optimization, cost efficiency, and engineering best practices across teams.
- Define and govern enterprise-wide data modelling and transformation frameworks, reviewing and validating DBT models across levels.
- Set strategic direction for orchestration, monitoring, reliability, and operational excellence of distributed data pipelines.
- Establish robust data quality, governance, security, and compliance frameworks in partnership with governance and business stakeholders.
- Act as a technical leader and domain expert—mentoring engineers, influencing architecture, owning delivery, and shaping long-term data roadmaps.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, Snowflake, DBT, and Apache Airflow.
- Solid understanding of SQL, data warehousing concepts, and ELT patterns.
- Experience working with large-scale, structured financial datasets.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and agile delivery practices.
- Proven experience architecting scalable, cloud-based data pipelines and analytical solutions.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to guide technical conversations and engineering decisions.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in investment, risk, or financial data domains.
- Knowledge of performance tuning and cost optimization in Snowflake.
- Exposure to data quality frameworks and metadata management.
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
