Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Java Developer to join a global leader in delivering CX, workforce engagement software and cloud services.
About the project: Prophecy is a foundational telephony platform that powers IVR logic, call routing, agent queues, outbound dialing, reporting, and workforce optimization for enterprise voice applications. The platform is currently undergoing a major technical modernization to ensure security, maintainability, and alignment with modern software standards.
Responsibilities:
- Java Migration: Lead the migration of Prophecy’s Java components from Java 8 to Java 17, ensuring all modules build and run successfully on the new JDK. This is the first and primary task for the new team member.
- Component & Library Updates: Update and remediate vulnerable components as identified by the team (a list of vulnerable components will be provided). Ensure all dependencies (Spring, Spring Security, ActiveMQ, Hibernate, etc.) are upgraded and secure.
- UI Modernization: Support the transition from the legacy GWT-based Management Console UI to a modern JavaScript framework (such as Angular or React), or help implement a hybrid approach if needed.
- Knowledge Transfer: Collaborate with current team members (including Nicolas, who will act as an interviewer and knowledge transfer contact) to document the environment, build process, and component structure. Facilitate smooth onboarding for new personnel.
- Environment Preparation: Assist in setting up development environments, including user account creation, repository access (Git), and CI/CD (Jenkins) configuration. Be ready to guide new team members through environment setup.
- Collaboration: Work closely with backend, frontend, QA, and DevOps teams. Communicate effectively with international colleagues and participate in regular knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Security & Compliance: Run and address security scans at the build level, ensuring all components are free from known vulnerabilities.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation for all migration, build, and deployment processes.
Qualifications
- 5+ experience with Java (preferably Java 8+; Java 17 migration experience is a plus)
- Experience with Spring, Spring Security, Maven, Ant, and ActiveMQ
- Familiarity with Hibernate and other enterprise Java libraries
- Experience with legacy UI frameworks (GWT) and/or modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React) is highly desirable
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and version control (Git)
- Ability to analyze and resolve build issues, refactor code, and address security vulnerabilities
- Strong documentation and communication skills in English
Nice to Have
- Experience migrating large-scale enterprise applications
- Understanding of telephony, IVR, or call center platforms is a plus
- Familiarity with hybrid UI migration strategies (e.g., integrating React with GWT)
- Knowledge of SIP/telephony processing and microservices architecture
