Job Description
Minor Hotels are seeking a motivated and creative PR & Communications Manager to join our Brisbane head office team. Reporting to the Director of PR & Communications, this is an exciting opportunity for an emerging communications professional to support PR activity, build brand visibility, and assist in delivering impactful campaigns across a diverse portfolio.
As PR & Communications Manager, you will support the development and execution of PR initiatives, assist with media relations, coordinate events and activations, and contribute to engaging storytelling across multiple channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution of PR strategies aligned to brand, commercial, and corporate objectives
- Assist in maintaining media databases and media relationships to support targeted outreach
- Draft press releases, media pitches, briefing documents, and internal communications
- Support proactive media outreach across trade, business, and consumer publications
- Assist in managing media enquiries and coordinating interview opportunities
- Coordinate media hosting, press stays, gifting, and influencer activity
- Monitor media coverage and compile regular coverage reports and insights
- Assist with the planning and delivery of events, launches, and PR activations
- Coordinate suppliers, logistics, guest lists, and event administration
- Support CSR initiatives, sponsorships, and partnership activations
- Collaborate with internal teams and hotel operators to support on-property activations
- Contribute ideas for editorial content and storytelling opportunities
- Assist with award submissions and industry recognition opportunities
- Support campaign reporting, tracking outcomes and maintaining PR records
- Ensure all communications align with brand tone of voice and brand standards
Qualifications
About You
- Degree in PR, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
- 2–3 years’ experience in PR and communications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for media, storytelling, hospitality, and brand communications
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Confident interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach
- Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn and grow within the business
- Experience using platforms such as Meltwater, Sprout Social, Canva, or Asana is advantageous
- Previous hospitality, tourism, or lifestyle brand experience is desirable but not essential
