Job Description

The Buggy Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing all resort buggies, electric carts, utility vehicles, and transportation equipment to ensure safe, smooth, and uninterrupted operations across the resort island. The role supports daily guest and team member transportation by ensuring all vehicles are in excellent working condition while adhering to resort safety standards and preventive maintenance schedules.

  • Carry out preventive maintenance and routine servicing of all electric and fuel-operated buggies and utility vehicles.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, battery, charging system, steering, suspension, and brake-related issues.
  • Repair or replace faulty parts, motors, batteries, tires, lights, and other vehicle components.
  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure all resort vehicles are safe and operational.
  • Respond promptly to buggy breakdowns and emergency repair requests across the island.
  • Maintain proper maintenance logs, service schedules, and repair records.
  • Monitor battery water levels, charging cycles, and battery performance for electric buggies.
  • Coordinate with the Transport and Engineering departments to ensure vehicle availability for guest and operational use.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the workshop and proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Monitor spare parts inventory and report requirements to management.
  • Follow resort health, safety, fire, and environmental policies at all times.
  • Support other engineering maintenance tasks when required by the department.
  • Ensure minimal downtime of resort transportation equipment to maintain guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a five-star luxury Hotel / Resort.  
  • Must have the appropriate documented training from a technical/vocational institute.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Able to communicate in English.
