Job Description
The Senior Duty Engineer is responsible for supervising daily engineering operations within the hotel, ensuring all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and maintenance systems operate efficiently and safely. The role includes handling guest complaints related to engineering issues, leading technicians during shifts, and ensuring preventive maintenance standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily hotel engineering and maintenance activities.
- Monitor HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, generator, and water systems.
- Respond to emergency maintenance issues and guest room complaints.
- Coordinate and assign tasks to engineering technicians.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are completed on time.
- Conduct inspections of plant rooms, guest rooms, public areas, and equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and arrange repairs.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with hotel safety standards and local regulations.
- Support energy-saving and cost-control initiatives.
- Coordinate with other departments for maintenance requirements.
- Assist during audits and inspections.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in hotel engineering or facility maintenance operations.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
- Ability to supervise technicians and contractors.
- Good troubleshooting and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
