Job Description

Ascent is an 18-month management development programme designed to support aspiring hospitality professionals with the potential and motivation to grow into future leadership roles within Minor Hotels.

The programme offers structured development, broad exposure, and increasing responsibility, with the aim of preparing participants to step into supervisor or entry-level management roles and continue building long-term careers in hospitality.

The journey is delivered in three phases:

  • Operational Department Immersion (Months 1–6) – A comprehensive hands-on execution of key hotel functions through rotational structure
  • Close Insight (Months 6–12) – A deeper dive into two selected departments to build capability and technical ability
  • Specialisation (Months 12–18) – Focused development in one department, preparing for leadership and permanent placement consideration. Specialisation is determined based on performance, development progress, and business requirements.

Throughout the programme, participants are fully integrated into their teams, contributing to day-to-day operations and leading business projects that support real outcomes.

Progression between phases is based on demonstrated performance, behaviours, and readiness for increased responsibility.

This programme requires commitment, flexibility, and a willingness to learn. Departmental interests and preferences are considered, while business needs remain central to placement decisions.

Hotel operations are a core part of the Ascent journey. Participants should be comfortable working in fast-paced environments and prepared for the physical and operational realities of hospitality.

What you will gain

  • An 18-month structured development journey with increasing responsibility
  • Broad exposure across hotel operations, administrative, and commercial functions
  • The opportunity to specialise in a department aligned with your long-term career goals
  • Hands-on experience and ownership of business projects
  • Ongoing coaching and mentoring from leaders, property teams, and programme alumni
  • Assessment and support for progression into supervisory or entry-level management roles upon successful completion

What we look for

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or similar is highly preferred
  • A genuine interest in hospitality and a strong guest-centric mindset
  • Flexibility, resilience, and openness to learning across different environments
  • Readiness to work in operational settings that may be physically demanding
  • A sense of ownership over personal development and professional behaviour
  • Fluency in English. Additional languages are a strong advantage

Ascent is a global programme. While visa support may be available in some locations, placement options depend on business needs, local regulations, and individual eligibility.
