Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Pool Technician to join our dynamic facilities team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will be the cornerstone of maintaining our swimming pool facilities to the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence. Working collaboratively with our Shift Leader and engineering team, you will ensure that all pools remain in pristine condition while adhering to rigorous safety protocols and preventive maintenance schedules. Your analytical mindset, combined with your commitment to customer satisfaction, will directly contribute to creating safe and enjoyable aquatic environments for our guests and residents.
- Perform daily pool maintenance tasks including water testing, chemical balancing, filtration system monitoring, and equipment inspection to ensure optimal water quality and safety standards
- Execute preventive maintenance activities according to established hotel schedules and engineering plans, maintaining detailed records of all maintenance performed
- Operate and maintain all pool-related equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, and chlorination systems, with precision and care
- Conduct thorough cleaning of pool areas, decks, and surrounding facilities while maintaining a safe and hygienic environment
- Communicate effectively with the Shift Leader and team members regarding maintenance status, equipment issues, and any safety concerns that arise
- Read and interpret technical blueprints, electrical schematics, and maintenance manuals to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently
- Properly manage and maintain all tools and equipment supplied by the organization, ensuring they are stored correctly and in working condition
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements within the engineering department and pool operations
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations, demonstrating resilience and decisive problem-solving abilities
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of local UAE safety regulations and environmental standards, ensuring full compliance at all times
Qualifications
- Appropriate documented training from an accredited technical or vocational institute in pool maintenance, water treatment, or related field
- Minimum one year of operating experience in a hotel engineering department, resort facilities management, or similar hospitality environment
- Current or ability to obtain recognised pool/water treatment certification or licence as required by UAE regulations
- Strong knowledge of swimming pool systems, water chemistry, filtration processes, and equipment operation
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret technical blueprints, electrical schematics, and maintenance manuals with precision and accuracy
- Proven problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and leadership
- Physical fitness and capability to perform manual labour, including lifting, bending, and working in varying weather conditions
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate maintenance records
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and respond promptly to operational needs and emergency situations
