The ideal candidate will ensure that all guest linens, staff uniforms, and guest linen is cleaned, maintained, and delivered to the highest standards of quality and hygiene.
Job Description
As Laundry Supervisor, you will be required to:
- Maintain the same high degree of service and efficiency in the absence of the Laundry Manager
- Oversee and manage Guest Laundry/Dry Cleaning operations, ensuring timely and quality service
- Supervise the Laundry Shop, ensuring proper stock management and customer service
- Handle administrative duties related to the laundry department, including staff scheduling and budget management
- Conduct regular quality control inspections of department standards, implementing improvements where necessary
- Regularly inspect machinery for signs of wear & tear, deterioration of hoses, belts, covers etc.
- Log any defects or maintenance requests via database for action by the Engineering Department
- Train and develop staff members to maintain high standards of service and efficiency
- Implement and maintain health and safety protocols within the laundry department
- Manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies and linens, ensuring optimal stock levels
- Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction
- Handle guest complaints and feedback related to laundry services promptly and professionally
- Monitor and analyse department performance metrics, reporting to senior management as required
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in laundry operations
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable laundry practices
Qualifications
- At least 3 years in laundry operations
- Diploma/ Certificate in hotel management is an added advantage
- Full grade twelve certificate
- Hands on experience in luxury safari lodge or five star establishment
- Knowledge of industrial laundry equipment and processes
- Supervisory or team‑leader experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of laundry chemicals, stain removal, fabric care, and machine operation
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time‑management skills
- Ability to train and motivate staff
- Experience in lodges, hotels, or safari camps is an added advantage
