Job Description
- Assist the Head Sommelier in managing the wine cellar, including inventory control and stock rotation.
- Provide wine recommendations to guests based on their preferences and food pairings.
- Serve wine and beverages in accordance with service standards.
- Support in the creation and maintenance of the wine list.
- Conduct wine tastings and staff training sessions to enhance wine knowledge.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and presentation of all wines.
- Stay updated on wine trends, regions, and vintages.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wine cellar and service areas.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop wine pairings for seasonal menus.
Qualifications
- Certification from a recognized wine education body (e.g., WSET Level 2 or higher) preferred.
- Previous experience in a fine dining or hospitality environment is an advantage.
- Strong passion for wine and a desire to grow within the sommelier profession.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high service standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours
