Job Description

  • Assist the Head Sommelier in managing the wine cellar, including inventory control and stock rotation.
  • Provide wine recommendations to guests based on their preferences and food pairings.
  • Serve wine and beverages in accordance with service standards.
  • Support in the creation and maintenance of the wine list.
  • Conduct wine tastings and staff training sessions to enhance wine knowledge.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and presentation of all wines.
  • Stay updated on wine trends, regions, and vintages.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wine cellar and service areas.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop wine pairings for seasonal menus.

Qualifications

  • Certification from a recognized wine education body (e.g., WSET Level 2 or higher) preferred.
  • Previous experience in a fine dining or hospitality environment is an advantage.
  • Strong passion for wine and a desire to grow within the sommelier profession.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high service standards.
  • Ability to work flexible hours
