Job Description

Summary:

Seeking a dedicated and skilled Landscape Manager with expertise in landscape gardening and maintenance. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of regional plant species in hot weather conditions, with experience in resort maintenance being advantageous. Must be highly organized, proactive, and team-oriented, capable of coordinating projects, selecting materials, managing budgets, and fostering client relationships.

Responsibilities:

Design and Planning:

  • Develop and implement landscape plans that enhance the hotel's aesthetics and functionality.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate landscape designs into overall property plans.
  • Ensure the designs are sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Landscaping & Irrigation:

  • Coordinate projects with vendors and team members, ensuring efficient execution.
  • Manage equipment inventory and procurement, preparing proposals for management approval.
  • Support team recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
  • Prioritize landscaping tasks such as fertilizing, irrigating, seeding, and mowing according to site needs.
  • Assess project requirements and propose effective solutions for plant selection and design.
  • Maintain accurate "as-built" drawings and collaborate on project planning and budgeting.
  • Oversee vendor selection and subcontractor management for landscape contracts.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for plant care and environmental sustainability.
  • Supervise project execution, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Review and approve third-party documentation.

Indoor and Outdoor Plants:

  • Manage inventory and procurement of plants and materials, preparing proposals as needed.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping for plant placement in guest areas.
  • Supervise plant care, including watering, fertilizing, and pruning.
  • Schedule maintenance based on guest schedules and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Verify and approve third-party documentation.

Innovation and Improvement:

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in landscaping and horticulture.
  • Implement new techniques and practices to enhance the property’s landscape.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the landscape maintenance operations.

This role demands strong leadership and a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences while maximizing revenue and profitability.

Qualifications

Experience/Certificates/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Landscape Architecture, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in landscape management, preferably in a luxury hospitality.
  • Strong knowledge of plants, horticultural practices, and irrigation systems.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and teams effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in landscape design.
