Job Description
We are currently offering an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned and dynamic leader to join Minor Hotels in the pivotal role of General Manager at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort. Nestled amidst the breathtaking beauty of the Hunter Valley, this role presents a truly exceptional relocation opportunity.
In this critical position, you will have overarching responsibility for directing the strategy and performance of the property. This includes the Hotel and Food and Beverage Departments, Elysia Wellness Retreat, Conferencing and Events, Golf, and Body Corporate matters. Your primary objective will be to ensure seamless operations and strategic alignment across all divisions.
The core focus of this role is to achieve optimal growth and profitability through strategic leadership and operational excellence. You will drive financial performance, uphold high service standards, and cultivate a positive workplace culture conducive to employee satisfaction and productivity.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Direct the day-to-day profitability, presentation, and operational efficiency of all departments within the property, encompassing Front Office and Guest Relations, Food and Beverage, Conference and Events, Golf, and Elysia Wellness Retreat
- Assume a pivotal role in coaching, developing, and managing direct reports to cultivate a high-performing team committed to achieving peak performance
- Drive strategic initiatives aimed at optimising Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR) through meticulous data collection, analysis, and implementation of effective strategies
- Maintain ultimate accountability for ensuring the overall efficiency and performance standards of the property align with organisational goals and industry benchmarks
- Oversee and manage body corporate matters pertinent to the property, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and effective stakeholder communication
We are offering an exceptional remuneration package, designed to secure top-tier talent for this pivotal role. This includes a highly lucrative base salary + bonus + relocation assistance + six months onsite accommodation.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will require the following:
- Demonstrated expertise in operational and financial management within the hospitality sector, ideally in a senior leadership role such as Cluster General Manager or General Manager of a sizable property
- Previous experience overseeing diverse operational areas including Food and Beverage Operations and Spa and Wellness
- Previous experience in Strata Management will be considered advantageous
- A proven track record of maintaining excellent product and service standards whilst maximising revenue and minimising expenses
- Demonstrated achievement in recruiting, driving and supporting teams to ensure a high performing team culture including an extensive portfolio in successful coaching and development
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain solid working relationships with guests, owners and staff
- Proficiency in strategic business acumen and a track record of effectively collaborating with critical commercial functions, such as marketing, sales, revenue management, and digital strategy
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Effective planning, organisational skills and problem-solving skills to manage pressure situations, multiple tasks and ability to work with a sense of urgency
